“Does it hurt?” asked the Rabbit ...
"Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” ~ Margery Williams

Joel Osteen - You will Surely see the Miracles of God in Your Life
When Joel tells the story about his daughter Alexandra singing and the problems and the promise she recv'd, it reminded me greatly of a story I want to share: when I moved in, I had a neighbor in #5 that never spoke to anyone, let alone smile, nod, or even wave 'hello'! Not even the man who lived here - who is like a little mayor and knows & talks to everyone - could breach this guy's wall of silence! But I kept waving, kept saying hello when I would walk past him - for over a year (!) ... I distinctly remember at least one time when someone told me, "Why are you wasting your time and energy, Jean?!" ... and then came that day when - I was sitting out front with my doggy, CoCo, and my immediate next-door neighbor, Johnny, was also sitting outside ... and when this man - this unfriendly man - pulled his car in -- he WAVED!! Johnny was very excited and said, "Wow! Finally!" something to that effect.... well, a few moments later, this same man came back outside, brought a chair, pointed to the two of us with a smile - then himself - and sat in that chair! "You must be a miracle-worker!" Johnny teased me ;) No, I kept remembering to look to my Father and do what He told me to -- and -- when I did that -- I got a friendly response out of a wounded soul who went very far in his effort to reach out to someone else +
