I was with a friend at a restaurant & we were actually hurrying to finish up, because after she drove me home, she had quite the journey to her own home. As we got to where you pay for your food, there was a caught-in-the-snowstorm scruffy guy with a hardluck story: while I reassured him I would pray, my friend insisted on giving him a ride. It didn't turn out anywhere near as frightening and life-ending as this tale, but it very easily could and in fact nearly did ;- Yet my friend was always annoyed that both myself & her husband were so "unChristlike" about our fears for what almost happened on that winter's night - completely blind. And I was grateful I had even the opportunity to do so, too ......
